HAPpy Training Cancellation Policy
Hertfordshire Community Foundation is pleased to receive funding from Hertfordshire County Council to enable us to offer free training for all HAPpy providers and their camp delivery staff. Although we don’t charge for attendance, there are costs associated with the planning and delivery of the programme such as tutor fees which are fixed regardless of how many people attend the course.
Unfortunately, we have seen a high level of non-attendance across the programme. 24% of those that booked onto courses during the summer programme either provided very late notice of cancellation or provided no notice at all and simply did not attend on the day. Late cancellation and non-attendance means that we are unable to make places available to other providers that may need them and has financial implications. In order to address this, we have decided to introduce a cancellation policy which will apply to all HAPpy training bookings from 09 November 2022.
Policy
- We will continue to deliver free training for HAPpy providers and their delivery staff.
- Contracted HAPpy providers (those organisations in receipt of the grant funding) agree that they are responsible for ensuring that their team attends training as booked, or provides appropriate notice of cancellation.
- We realise that plans change, so if you need to cancel your booking then there will be no charge as long as you provide a minimum of 48 hours notice (business hours).
- If you provide less than 48 hours notice of cancellation, or fail to attend on the day, then we will charge the contracted organisation a cancellation fee of £20.
- The cancellation fee of £20 applies per person and per booking and cancellation fees will be calculated accordingly.
- You can transfer your booking to another member of your HAPpy staff by emailing [email protected]. Please note that you must allow a minimum of 48 hours notice (business hours) to enable us to arrange the transfer.
- Cancellations fees will be issued by invoice to the main email address supplied by the contracted organisation.
- Cancellation fees must be paid promptly, within 14 days of receiving the invoice.
- Failure to pay cancellations fees and repeat cancellations or non-attendance by an individual or team may result in the contracted provider (and their team) being subject to paying full course costs in order to secure access to future HAPpy training courses.

How to cancel a booking
- Please sign into your account and click on MANAGE BOOKINGS and unenroll from the course you can no longer attend. This function will only work up to 48 hours (business hours) before the course is due to run
- For late cancellations (less that 48 hour notice - business hours) please email [email protected] your cancellation will be subject to a cancellation fee.
